A pleasing and tactile snuff box
Very unusual for this type of snuff box to have a maker's mark or hallmark
Richard Lovell registered his mark in 1701
Good clear maker's marks, erased lion head mark worn but readable
There are a few pieces of tortoiseshell missing on the lid, right hand side
The silver banding on the lid has lifted a little at the front, but is firmly attached
Otherwise good engraving and condition
